What You Need To Know About Our Bathroom Refinishing Services
At TubNotch in Houston, Texas, we have responded to usual queries about the refinishing and remodeling services we offer in and around the area. For your reference, we have compiled our answers on this FAQ page.
Once we refinish your tile, you should never have to refinish it again. If the care and maintenance recommendations are followed, you can reasonably expect your refinished fixture to remain as good as new for at least 10 to 12 years. Additionally, one of the many fantastic features of the material we apply is that it can easily be repaired should it be damaged.
The time we spend on a basic bathtub that has never been refinished should be between three to four hours, depending on its condition. However, every job is unique. That is why we will, in-depth, discuss the timing of your particular project when you book the job with us and again when we arrive for your appointment.
We ask that you have a working drain available as the extensive preparation procedures we use will require several rinses along the way. In addition to that, any faucet leaks that exceed one drop per minute should be repaired before the refinishing process. That is because no water must fall on the newly refinished surface for a certain amount of time, which will be discussed before and after the job.
We are proud to be able to repair and refinish practically any surface you may have. These include but are not limited to any kinds of bathtubs (cast iron, steel, fiberglass, acrylic, etc.) and countertops (tiled, Formica, cultured marble, etc.). Additionally, we also provide our services for all kinds of showers, tiles, hot tubs, and spas, to name a few.
We advise that you wait up to 24 hours before using the fixture. Any damage caused by touching or using the refinished items before the completion of the required waiting time will not be covered by the warranty.
We take extreme precautions to prevent any hazardous smelly vapor or material from entering your home. The ventilation units we use rate at 2500 cubic feet per minute. That means if you have a bathroom with a 15” x 20” floor plan, our ventilator will exhaust every bit of air in the room every minute, even if you don’t have a window.
Most bathrooms are much smaller, and our units will change the air in your room several times in a minute. That is to exhaust everything out through a nearby window and clear off your living space. When we have completed refinishing your fixture, we recommend that you leave the window open and the door closed. This way, any residual smell should completely fade within 24 hours.
Most of the jobs we complete are to alter the color or style fixtures. We change the hue of objects and surfaces based on our clients' preferences. Additionally, we can get special orders to find exact matches from leading brand names such as Kohler, American Standard, and more. If you have a color in mind but can't name it, you can send us a sample chip or tile to have it matched by our supplier.
We offer an industry-leading warranty of five years. That covers all material failure or manufacturing defects not caused by the customer’s mistreatment of the refinished surface.
We certify in writing with every job that our work will not de-laminate for a full five years. Be aware of the companies offering full coverage warranties longer than five years. They may not be planning on remaining in business long enough to honor it.
If something unforeseen, assuming proper care and maintenance and at no fault to yourself, were to occur with the material we apply, simply contact us. We will return immediately to repair the damage at absolutely zero cost to you.
We use only the highest quality topcoats coming directly from manufacturers. Our primer system is exclusive through our membership in the PBRA and is stress-tested to be superior to every other product on the market.
Additionally, we not only go the extra mile in the application of materials but as well as in preparing the surfaces. That is because we believe that the process of readying a fixture is one of the most important aspects in ensuring a long-lasting finish. No company in the industry has a more extensive process of preparation that comes with the highest quality products than us.
The surface is often more slippery after the process is completed. Should this concern you, we offer a beautiful non-slip bottom as an accessory to the refinishing process. We place the additive underneath all the coats of material we apply. The texture is perfect for preventing slipping and does not catch dirt over time. Please ask us about this when you book the appointment.
The sooner you contact us with your preferred time and date of completion, the better your chance of securing our services. We are typically booked out approximately two weeks in advance. But we keep a few appointment slots open for emergencies. Call us now to see if your time is available.
We highly recommend refinishing to be the last procedure in completing your remodeling projects. If you are replacing floors or tiles, make sure to finish the task before our appointment. The only thing that we would possibly recommend being left until the completion of our work would be a final coat of paint on the walls.
We advise you to refrain from having an open construction site in the room where we will be working. That will possibly cause an undue amount of dust and debris to fall on the surface. We make every effort to protect the fixture from any possible marring material, and open constructions make it virtually impossible to prevent every bit of dust and debris from getting close to it.
Currently, we accept payments through personal checks, PayPal, and cash. Should you have any questions concerning payment, feel free to contact us at your convenience.
